If you teach FP in the community ask your participants to purchase a set of 1 or 2kg hand weights and bring them to class.
Adding resistance brings a whole new dimension to many of the basic exercises and allows clients to experience FP in a very unique way.
Teaching and coaching weighted resistance in a mindful and gentle way is especially beneficially for postmenopausal clients to increase bone density and muscular strength and endurance and increase the challenge an overload of FP exercises.

Fitness Pilates To Improve The Posterior Chain.
Focusing a whole section or 50% of your class on the posterior chain can bring immense benefit to your FP clients in a very short space of time.
The effect is immediate in so many cases, with clients increasingly ālivingā in a forward flexed position with the head forward, shoulders rounded and very little strength and tone in the upper back and posterior delts. Functional FP exercises are especially helpful for this.
As we walk down the street we see people of all ages staring at their phone screens, looking down, shoulders rounded, slumping forward displayingĀ a variety of postural imbalances
It has NEVER been so relevant.
The good news is we can add simple posterior chain movements and functional exercises to have a huge impact.
