Paula recently passed her Step Certification Training with Choreography To Go with flying colours and wanted to share her story:
Hi I’m Paula and I live in the Isle of Man .
I’ve been teaching group exercise for 15 years. Last year I qualified as an ETM instructor as I felt we were missing out on more of the retro style classes like aerobics plus I’d had lots of ladies my age asking for aerobics and step classes.
I’ve followed Rachel and choreography to go for a couple of years now and always been interested in her courses. So when the step course came up I signed up immediately. The content was fab. There’s a video library to access routine and ideas to help you set up your first class.
Whether you want to teach fancy choreography or easy to follow routines, Rachel gives you ideas and puts the emphasis on making the class your own. It’s such a relief to be able to teach your own style .
I already had an established class, with some weeks having 29/30 women. I teach in a ladies gym in Douglas on the Isle of Man, Warehouse Fitness ladies only gym. The ladies have been my guinea pigs and they love Step and have accommodated me trying out different routines, always with constructive feedback.
The support i’ve had has been great from our own private fb page.
We all help each other out with ideas, confidence boosts and general praise for what we’ve achieved. I’m now looking at other courses on the choreographytogo site. I’d really love to bring Fitness Pilates to the island as there’s definitely a gap to fill.
