How do I start a Pilates business?
So you are passionate about Pilates and want to start your own business? Let us help you with our 8 steps to getting set up!
Check out our guide with the steps you need to start a Pilates studio the right way:
- Qualification comes first when you start a Pilates studio! You need to ensure you have either the Level 3 Pilates diploma or Fitness Pilates certification before you can start teaching.
- Insurance- you must be insured to teach pilates classes, take a look at fitpro.comÂ
- Build your brand. A strong brand is key to being recognisable, choose your colours, font, logo and how you want to present your brand. Take a look at other pilates brands for ideas.
- Work on a business plan. You will need to plan ahead on how you are going to grow your business and make it viable.
- Get situated. Where will you teach? In a local hall? Your own studio? From home? At a gym?
- Set your prices- compare with other local classes and work out your packages- will people pay as you go or buy memberships?
- Start marketing. Now you are ready you need to get yourself out there- start marketing your classes- use social media and old school marketing like leafleting in your local area. You can make free marketing materials easily at www.canva.com
- Get help from others. Ask other Fitpros for tips on setting up, how they marketed themselves and their brand- it is also helpful when setting pricing. Our Fitpro supporters group is great for this – a facebook group of over 600 fellow fitpros all sharing ideas plus free business training.
