Fitness Pilates Newsletter 25th  February 2024

    Hi

Hope you are having a great weekend.

    Sound Dynamics New Mic
Sound Dynamics has launched a new wireless headset microphone, and I think you will love it for your FP classes since there is no belt pack, which you always have to keep moving when you are teaching FP and lying down on the mat on your back, etc. It’s from our friends at Sound Dynamics and worth a look if you are looking to upgrade your mic. Give Stuart a ring and let him know you are one of my members.

New Fitness Pilates Music From Pure Energy
Do you love a more classical music style for your classes? Pure Energy have released a new album called  Classical Chill 2 which has a beautiful piano vibe perfect for your FP Candlelight events check it out on the Pure Energy website use my code RH10

    FP Men On Mats
    F
ifteen years ago, I created the Fitness Pilates for Men concept, ‘Men on Mats’, with Marvin. You may recall we developed a functional version of FP. Since then, many FP teachers  have embraced this idea, running successful men-only classes and offering FP for sports teams. They have gained a deeper understanding of how to modify FP exercises for men who attend their classes.

Fitness Pilates can be adapted to meet the specific needs and preferences of men, considering their anatomical differences, fitness goals, and exercise preferences.

Incorporate Mobility and Flexibility: Choose dynamic mobility exercises for the joints and flexibility exercises for key muscle groups to improve range of motion.

Adapt for Athletic Performance Enhancement: For sports teams, tailor exercises to mimic movements and demands relevant to specific sports or athletic activities to improve performance. For instance, include rotational movements for golfers.

Integrate Functional Movements: Include exercises that mimic daily functional movements to enhance overall functionality and carry-over to daily activities.

Emphasise Flexibility for Improved Performance: Combine Pilates exercises with targeted stretching to enhance flexibility, which is essential for preventing injuries and improving overall performance in sports and other physical activities.

Include Balance and Stability Challenges: Add stability challenges such as using balance pads or stability balls to improve balance and stability, which are crucial for athletic performance and injury prevention.

Could you do a Men On Mats Session?
