Christmas Fitness Pilates Candlelight Class
Breathwork, Gratitude Reading, and Deep Relaxation Script
(For Winter Solstice and Christmas season)
Set the Scene:
Warm candlelight fills the room, gentle festive scents of cinnamon or pine drift in the air, and soft, peaceful instrumental music plays in the background.
Introduction to Breathwork
(Speak calmly and gently.)
“Welcome to this special moment in our candlelight Pilates class. As the Winter Solstice draws near and Christmas approaches, let us create a sanctuary of calm and reflection.
Begin by settling into a comfortable seated or lying position. Let your body relax completely into the mat. Close your eyes softly, release the tension in your face, and allow your hands to rest wherever feels natural.
Take a deep breath in through your nose for a count of four… and exhale softly out through your mouth for a count of six. Inhale… two, three, four… and exhale… two, three, four, five, six. Feel your body soften and relax with every breath.
Now let your breath settle into its own rhythm. With each inhale, imagine drawing in peace, and with each exhale, let go of tension and stress. Picture your breath as a gentle golden light filling you with warmth and calm.”
Gratitude Reading
“As you continue to breathe, I invite you to bring your focus to gratitude. Gratitude is a powerful practice that brings light into our hearts, even on the darkest days.
Listen to these words as you let them sink into your heart:
‘In the stillness of the season, I give thanks.
For the simple joys—a warm smile, the sparkle of lights, the scent of pine in the air.
For the people who bring love and laughter to my life, near or far.
For my body, which moves and carries me through each day with strength and grace.
For the lessons of this year, the growth, and the promise of new beginnings ahead.
I am grateful for this moment, this breath, this life.’
Take a moment to reflect on what you are grateful for. It could be something small—a cozy cup of tea, a kind word—or something profound. Let your gratitude fill your heart and radiate through your entire being.”
Guided Visualisation and Positivity
“Now, imagine yourself walking through a peaceful winter landscape. Snow gently blankets the ground, and the air is crisp and fresh. Ahead of you, golden candlelight flickers, guiding you to a quiet sanctuary surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Here, you feel a sense of deep peace and connection. As you breathe, picture yourself surrounded by a soft, glowing light. This light is filled with positivity, joy, and hope. It flows into you with every inhale, renewing your energy and spirit.
As you exhale, imagine releasing any doubts or worries. They melt away like snowflakes in the warmth of this light.
With each breath, affirm to yourself:
- ‘I am at peace with where I am.’
- ‘I welcome joy and abundance into my life.’
- ‘I carry light and love within me, and I share it with the world.’
Hold onto these affirmations as you continue to breathe deeply, letting them fill you with confidence and positivity.”
Body Scan for Deep Relaxation
(Speak softly, guiding participants through their body.)
“Now, bring your attention to your body. Starting at the crown of your head, feel a wave of relaxation flow down like a gentle stream of light.
Soften your forehead… relax your eyes… unclench your jaw. Feel your neck and shoulders release tension and grow heavy.
Let this wave of relaxation flow down your arms, through your chest, and into your back. Your hips, legs, and feet soften, becoming light and free.
Feel your entire body resting, supported, and at ease. You are safe, grounded, and deeply relaxed.”
Closing Reflection
“As we close this session, take a few deeper breaths. Begin to gently wiggle your fingers and toes, bringing awareness back into your body.
When you’re ready, open your eyes slowly, taking in the glow of the candlelight and the peace of this space. Carry this sense of gratitude, positivity, and calm with you as you move through the season.
Remember, the Winter Solstice reminds us that even in the darkest moments, the light always returns. And just as the light grows brighter each day, so too can the light within you shine brighter—bringing hope, joy, and love to yourself and those around you.”
End with a Festive Touch
“Thank you for sharing this time of peace and reflection with me. Wishing you a joyful christmas season filled with love, gratitude, and light.
